How much is shipping and what services do you use?
We offer free shipping on all of our orders, no matter how large or small. For our free shipping option, we ship with trackable USPS first-class mail (~3-10 days). For expedited shipping ($7.99 per order), we ship USPS Priority (~2-3 days).
What days of the week do you ship?
Because we sell live plants and livestock, we ship out on Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays (days of the week calculated to minimize shipping time). We personally take all orders to the post-office between 4-5 p.m. to minimize the time the plants are in transit.
Do you ship outside of the United States?
No, because of the perishable nature of the items we sell, we only ship within the US and US Territories.
How long can your plants survive in shipping?
If the temperature in your area is between 36° F and 99° F:
- In general: Most of our plants survive up to 14 days in transit
- Water lettuce is more sensitive and generally only survives up to 10 days in transit
- Shrimp can survive for up to 7 days in transit
When your items are delivered, it is very important that someone is available to retrieve them from the mailbox/delivery location as soon as possible. Although occasionally the plants get damaged in transit, most of the time the damage occurs when they sit out all day exposed to the elements.
Do you offer a Live Arrival Guarantee and what is your refund policy?
All of the plants and livestock we sell are backed by our live arrival guarantee. If you believe you received dead plants, you must send us a photo of the plants in their original packaging within 2 hours of when the item was delivered. This policy ensures you receive quality items and, at the same time, allows us to keep our prices low by preventing fraudulent returns. Note that we do not offer live-arrival guarantee if the daytime temperature in your area is below 35° F or over 100° F at any time within seven days of your order — in such circumstances you order at your own risk.
To start a return, you can contact us. If your return is accepted, we will generally provide you with the option of receiving a replacement or a refund (though the options may vary based on each unique situation).

Do not order live products from us if the daytime temperature in your area will be below 35° F or over 100° F at any time in the next seven days. Because we guarantee live arrival in all other circumstances, there is no need to use cold or heat packs.
